Chicken Pot Pie

Serves

Ingredients 

  • 125ml of Benna Fresh Cream
  • 250ml Benna Fresh Whole Milk
  • 1 Benna Ġbejna tal-Bżar
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 200g cooked chicken breast
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 medium sized chopped carrots
  • 2 medium sized chopped potatoes
  • 120g frozen peas
  • 120g canned corn
  • 120g mushrooms
  • 100ml white wine
  • 1tsp of curry
  • 1 chicken stock
  • Fresh rosemary
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a pan add olive oil, onion, garlic, carrots and potatoes. Sauté until tender.
  2. Add the peas , corn , mushrooms and chicken. Mix everything together.
  3. Add the wine a bit of water and mix. Add the curry, fresh rosemary,salt and pepper. Let it cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add your milk cheese and cream.
  5. This will take a total of 30 minutes of cooking.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a baking tray
  7. Cut the pastry into small pieces and layer your crust on top.
  8. Brush the crust with egg wash and bake for 20 minutes on 200C or until the crust is crispy and golden.
